The project “Interregional Cooperation for Climate Adaptation in Agriculture” (ADAPTAGRI) is a joint initiative of three organizations from Türkiye, Bulgaria, and Greece. The initiative aims to develop and implement innovative solutions for introducing smart and environmentally friendly agricultural practices that support climate change adaptation and contribute to building more resilient food production systems. The project focuses on regions facing pronounced climate-related challenges in the participating countries — namely: Dobrudzha in Bulgaria, Evros in Greece, and Thrace (Tekirdağ, Edirne, and Kırklareli) in Türkiye.

The planned activities are grouped into several main areas:

  • Establishment of a BSB Platform for Smart and Green Recovery in Agriculture;

  • In-depth studies and analyses of the impact of climate change on field crops and identification of good practices;

  • Development of a database of funding sources and support programmes in the field of sustainable agriculture;

  • Organization of technical trainings and workshops for farmers and agricultural specialists, including the creation of a joint mentoring network;

  • Preparation of policy recommendations and joint action plans for adapting agriculture to climate change;

  • Development of informational and educational materials – digital brochures, videos, and online resources on smart and green practices;

  • Pilot implementation of drones for smart and ecological recovery in agriculture.

The project implementation focuses on knowledge transfer, experience exchange, and adoption of innovative practices, achieved through the active participation of local communities and farmers’ associations in close cooperation with the expert teams of the partner organizations.

Expected results of the ADAPTAGRI project include:

  • Development and implementation of a platform for smart and green recovery in agriculture;
  • Enhanced opportunities for transnational cooperation and exchange of good practices in sustainable agriculture;

  • Increased capacity of farmers and entrepreneurs to apply smart technologies and sustainable cultivation models;

  • Implementation of pilot actions using drones and precision technologies for climate adaptation;

  • Preparation of policy recommendations and joint action plans for climate-resilient agriculture;

  • Improved public and stakeholder awareness on the importance of sustainable agriculture.
