Project: “Interregional Cooperation for Climate Adaptation in Agriculture” (ADAPTAGRI) is a joint initiative of three organizations from Turkey, Bulgaria, and Greece.
The initiative focuses on developing and implementing innovative solutions for the adoption of smart and environmentally friendly agricultural practices that support adaptation to climate change and help build more resilient food production systems. The project covers regions facing significant climate challenges in the partner countries, namely: Dobrudja in Bulgaria, Evros in Greece, and Thrace (Tekirdağ, Edirne, and Kırklareli) in Turkey.
The planned activities are grouped into several main directions:
- Establishment of a BSB platform for smart and green recovery in agriculture;
- Conducting in-depth studies and analyses on the impact of climate change on field crops and identifying good practices;
- Development of a database of funding sources and support programmes in the field of sustainable agriculture;
- Organization of technical trainings and seminars for farmers and specialists, including the creation of a joint mentor network;
- Preparation of policy proposals and joint action plans for adapting agriculture to climate change;
- Development of informational materials – digital brochures, videos, and online resources on smart and environmentally friendly practices;
- Pilot implementation of drones for smart and green recovery in agriculture.
The project implementation is aimed at knowledge transfer, exchange of experience, and the application of innovative practices, which will be achieved through the active participation of local communities and agricultural chambers in close cooperation with the expert teams of the partner organizations.
Expected results of the ADAPTAGRI project include:
- Development and implementation of a platform for smart and green recovery in agriculture;
- Improved opportunities for transnational cooperation and exchange of best practices in sustainable agriculture;
- Increased capacity of farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs to apply smart technologies and sustainable crop production models;
- Development and implementation of pilot actions using drones and precision technologies to support climate change adaptation;
