On March 27, 2026, the Dobrudzha Agrarian and Business School (DABS) hosted a webinar titled “Funding Opportunities for Climate-Smart Agriculture in Bulgaria” as part of the ADAPTAGRI project.
The event brought together representatives from academia, farmers, entrepreneurs, and experts to discuss key challenges and opportunities facing the agricultural sector in the context of climate change and sustainable development.
During the webinar, participants were introduced to major trends in European agriculture, including slowing productivity growth, shifting consumer demand, and the urgent need for climate adaptation. Special emphasis was placed on the growing importance of climate-smart agriculture, digitalization, and innovation as drivers of resilience and competitiveness.

The session also highlighted European Union policies and national frameworks supporting the transition to sustainable agriculture. Key instruments such as the Common Agricultural Policy (2023–2027), the European Green Deal, and the European Climate Law were discussed, alongside relevant national strategies and programs.
Concrete examples of funding opportunities were presented, covering investments in farms, processing facilities, renewable energy, and precision agriculture technologies.
The discussion also addressed several challenges, such as limited access to innovation, insufficient incentives for digital solutions, and the need for more targeted and effective policy implementation.
The webinar concluded by emphasizing the importance of strategic planning and the combination of multiple funding instruments to achieve impactful and sustainable outcomes in agriculture.
